FAQ's

How quickly will you ship my order?

Your order will ship 1-3 days after it has been placed.

What if my order is lost?

Lavender Apothecary is not responsible for any lost, stolen or missing packages once they are in the possession of USPS. In the event that your package turns out to be missing for any reason, a claim needs to be filed with USPS. We understand how frustrating this can be so we will gladly reship your order to you if you'd like us to. Once the situation is settled with USPS, we will bill you for the additional shipment. Please know that in seven years of business, this has only occurred twice from hundreds and hundreds of orders.

What carrier method do you ship by?

We ship by USPS priority. Depending on the state we are shipping to it will take 1 to 3 days to arrive to you.

What if my candle arrived damaged?

Please send us a message immediately and we will send out a replacement candle! We do our absolute best to ensure that there will be no breakage but it does happen sometimes. We want to make sure you are happy! We will require a photo of the damaged goods before we can send a replacement of the damaged candle. Please use extreme caution when handling the broken/damaged candle as the glass can be sharp!

Why do you use Soy Wax?

Soy wax is a renewable source and is American grown. It is carbon neutral and burns very clean. Soy wax not only burns cleaner than paraffin wax but lasts longer and retains fragrance better and burns slower. Soy wax does not emit harmful ugly toxins into your space and is a good choice for a clean burning candle. Overall, soy wax is a much better wax to use for a candle with less soot.

Why does my candle have "wet spots" (candle separation look on jar) or "frost" on it?

Although, soy wax is a superior wax it sometimes can be sensitive to temperature changes from cold to hot or vice versa. This can cause minor changes in your candles appearance. Be assured that this will not change the fragrance or the way your candle burns at all.

What are your burn times?

5 ounce - 25 to 30 hours
8 ounce - 45 to 50 hours
16 ounce - 85 to 90 hours

*These times are approximate and will vary depending on how well your candle is cared for. * Please see section that addresses Candle care.

How should I burn my candle? What is good candle care?

The first time you burn your candle you should burn it enough to achieve a nice good melt pool of wax. The melted wax should reach all edges of the jar. Soy wax has a memory and this first time burn process is important to avoid tunneling of your candle. I suggest the following times for your first burn and subsequent lightings.

Minimum of 3 hours for the 16 ounce and 8 ounce jars
Minimum of  2 to 3 hours for the 5 ounce jar

The next time that you burn your candle be sure to trim the wick to 1/4" and discard the wick trimmings. Light up your candle and enjoy. DO NOT BURN YOUR 16 OUNCE OR 8 CANDLE LONGER THAN 4 HOURS! I SUGGEST 3 HOURS ON THE 5 OUNCE.

Burn your candle on a smooth surface away from direct draft. Never leave your candle unattended and within the reach of children or pets.

Can you make a custom scent?

Yes, I can! Please send me a message and we can discuss what scent you have in mind and other particulars.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes I do! Please contact me so we can discuss wholesale details.

Do you use essential oils in your candles?

Most of the fragrances we use are infused with essential oils. However, there are some of our scents that are fragrance oils only and are not infused with essential oils. All of our fragrances are Phthalate free (no chemical fillers). We use only premium quality fragrance oils that are specifically intended for use with soy wax.
